Installation Problems

This page applies if you are installing the game from an official CD.

If you are installing a downloaded demo then click here instead.

Important Note: If any errors were reported during installation then you will not be able to play the game.

Error messages during the installation process are almost never caused by a bad CD. Nearly one month after release we have only had a single case the CD *may* have been bad. Maybe you're the unlucky one that will get a bad CD, but it's highly unlikely.

Please follow the instructions below, which we have found to solve almost all installation problems.

Step 1

If you have a DVD or CD-R or CD-RW drive, then update the drivers for it (most plain CD-ROM drives do not need drivers)

Step 2

Update the drivers for your IDE interface. The IDE interface is usually located on your motherboard, so updated drivers can be obtained from the motherboard or computer manufacturer's website.

Step 3

Re-install the game:

• Turn off (disable) any anti-virus software
• Insert the game CD, wait for the window to open and click "Reinstall" (no need to uninstall).
• After the installation is complete, turn on your anti-virus software
